Goodbye from Andy & Rosie

After 5 wonderul years Andy & Rosie will be leaving the Kings Arms on Sunday 30th October 2011 (5 years to the day we moved in!).

A huge thank you to all our friends who have supported us over this period - we will miss you all!

We have had no option but to leave owing to the intransigence of a certain pubco who will not see sense and offer a reasonable rent level!

As people will be aware the demographics of Heaton Village have changed over the past 5 years with people who would use the pub moving out of the village to be replaced by people who do not traditionally use pubs. Sadly this has led to a shortfall of customers and the following knock-on downturn in trade. It does not take Einstein to work out that if rents cannot be adjusted down as well as up then something has to give.

Thankfully the pub will remain open courtesy of a Management Company who have taken on the temporary running - needless to say I don't suppose they will be paying the same level of rent as we have!
